The seeds are ripe, the harvest is not far away.
Let us observe the state of the bent stems two months after the crop circle appeared

The center.

Close-up of bent stems in the center.

In the center, some stems remained upright while others are bent but not broken.

The middle circle, the crop is ready for harvest.

The crop level is lower inside the formation. The flattened stems did not stand up again, but the branches rose vertically through phototropism throughout the formation, except in the paths created by visitors.
It is interesting to remember the state of the stems two months after the discovery in order to compare it with future formations. Since 2005, no OILSEED RAPE formation had shown bent stems in this way.
In 2005 at
Golden Ball Hill, we had not monitored the evolution of the stems.

A dry sample stem that did not rise again after being flattened in April 2009 and remained almost horizontal until harvest time. The flowers at the top of the stems completed their maturation and produced seeds despite the many visits. They managed to turn toward the sky through phototropism and/or gravitropism after the main stem had been bent.
